  • Tasting notes : A vibrant red with purple hues and a lifted red berry fruit aroma with white pepper spice. The full bodied palate shows generous ripe fruit characters with underlying earthy tones and lingering sweet berry flavours. A touch of vanillin oak adds balance and softness to a long and enjoyable finish.

  • Food Accompaniment : Potato tortilla with pancetta. Lamb cutlets saltimbocca.

  • Winemakers Comment : The grapes for the Down Shiraz were sources from selected vineyards in the Riverina region. The grapes were harvested at night,destemmed and gently pressed in an airbag press. Nearing the end of ferment the grapes were pressed in a bag press and put into French Oak Barriques and Hogsheads for a minimum of 6months. The Tempranillo was gently racked, stabilized and bottled with minimal filtration.
