  • Tasting notes : Westend Estate Cool Climate Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is pale straw in appearance showing vibrant green tinges. The Semillon was sourced from Murrumbateman in the Canberra District, while the Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from the highly acclaimed King Valley. The two varieties together have produced a delightfully fresh and exciting Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is full of intense tropical fruits and grassy notes. The palate is a seamless expression of passionfruit, lemons and limes that show stylish restraint.

  • Winemakers Comment : The Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc were both made with the gentlest of handling preserving the delicate fruit flavours. The two varieties were both harvested in the cool of the night and processed separately. The fruit is gently destemmed, crushed and whole bunch pressed in an air bag press. The juice is cold settled and using only the clear juice is fermented slowly at cool temperatures until dry. The two wines are blended to capture the essential expressions of each variety. The wine is then carefully stabilised and filtered before bottling, ensuring that all the fruit flavours are captured.
