Alexis Lichine Cabernet Sauvignon VDP Wine



  • Vintage: 2009

  • Grape variety(ies): Cabernet Sauvignon, originally from Bordeaux. Has found a new home in Languedoc-Roussillon, where it produces good wine when the yield is limited.

  • Origin: The vineyards of the Pays d'Oc are located in southern France, particularly in Languedoc-Roussillon. They extend from southern Côtes du Rhône to Carcassonne.

  • Soil: Varied over the whole producing area ; this vatfil has been especially selected on clay-chalky soils.

  • Vinification: Harvested when just ripe, destemmed, crushed and fermented for 6 to 12 days. The fermentation temperature is regulated (not more than 32° C). The oenologists have selected the best vintages. It is not matured in oak barrels. Lastly, it is racked, filtered and bottled.

  • Characteristics:
    - Colour: Clear, very intense, almost black, garnet red to purple.
    - Nose: Red fruit, blackcurrants, green peppers, with notes of spices and hay. Typical this variety.
    - Palate: Fine tannic body, notes of liquorice, fine and length of taste.

  • Recommendations: Red wine that may be served with red meat such as game, cold meats, salads and a large number of cheeses.

  • Serving condition in C°: 16-18ºC
